The space

The cottage has been recently refurbished and combines a traditional cottage feel with a contemporary twist of style.

There are 2 double bedrooms which accommodate 4 people. The beds can be configured to sleep a couple and two children or two couples. A travel cot can be provided. The place is excellently equipped including TV, Wi-Fi, Sound System, Log Burners and Heating System.

The kitchen contains the highest quality appliances including, oven, induction hob, microwave, nespresso machine, toaster and kettle, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Guest access

Guests have full use of the cottage and garden. surf-boards and bodyboards are available upon request.

Please note that the agreed booking is based upon the number of guests who stay and an additional charge will be applied if you would like to alter the booking and increase the numbers.

We stayed at Joe's cottage for 3 nights during Storm Babet and, with underfloor heating and the log-burner, the cottage was a delightfully cosy place to be! The clever mix of old and new stays true to the character of an old cottage, but adds all the benefits of contemporary design and good quality materials - we really loved the downstairs layout and the beautiful slate floors. The kitchen and dining area together are spacious and very well equipped - e.g. a coffee machine AND a cafetiere - and also a log burner. We didn't meet Joe, but Shirley (Joe's mum) is a wonderful host, very friendly…

My parents and I had a fantastic stay at Joe’s house! It’s a cosy little cottage surrounded by a beautiful area and just near the ocean. I would’ve loved to have stayed for longer.

What can I say? So friendly and so helpful - really went above and beyond. We were made to feel so welcome and catered for. One example: when they sensed we mightn’t be able to get into town ourselves, Joe and Shirley reached out to offer to bring us some supplies round! Couldn’t have been happier with the hosting, the house, the location… Above and beyond expectations, as I say. Thank you both

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Middle Cottage. With a warm welcome from lovely Shirley and a yummy welcome gift we had a great start to our stay.
We weren't blessed with the best weather during our trip to Bude but it didn't matter one bit as we enjoyed spending our time relaxing and having fun in the cottage. The cottage is cosy, tastefully decorated and has everything you need. The location is down a quiet lane, with lovely views from the bedroom windows, great for enjoying lazy mornings in bed.
When we return to Bude we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else!

Staying at ‚Middle Cottage‘ is like coming home - we felt welcome as soon as we arrived. Joe and Shirley made us feel very comfortable by being very helpful and providing us with yummy scones, clotted cream and homemade jam. Thank you!
The cottage is really beautiful and cosy, sparkling clean and provides everything you might need during your stay.
This was our second stay at this cottage and surely not our last one…
